A monster of a hole, very long and with multiple water carry’s, where only three of the best played shots will find the green. A good drive with a draw off the right hand fairway bunker may get some extra distance from the down slope. Shorter drives will require accurate second shots to the narrow peninsular fairway, from where a lay-up is advised as the green and pond in front cannot be seen from here.
Longer drives should be able to reach the higher ground with a well struck second shot, from where the view of the green site opens up. The green is on its own peninsular, with deep hollows and water in front and to the right, bunkers to the left, and hollows to the rear also. Approach shots finding the gently sloping green will be rewarded with relatively straightforward putts.
This narrow par 4 has jungle all the way down the left side that must be avoided. The hole is a slight dogleg left and a slight draw is recommended, particularly if hitting driver, as you can run out of fairway after the drive zone at 230m. A lay-up with tree wood or hybrid to the wider fairway at 210-220m is the sensible option, leaving a short iron of no more than 120m to the green.
The green is protected by a bunker along the left side and a steep slope off to the right that can carry the ball a long way from the green. The back left hole location will be difficult to get to over the bunker, and the central right section of green sits on a raised tier separating the front and back of the green, making long putts and recovery shots quite challenging.
This long par 4 demands a good drive onto the fairway, as approaches from the rough will be extremely difficult as front greenside bunkers must be carried. The fairway again doglegs to the left and narrows considerably after 225m. Again driver is not a safe option. A mid to long iron will be needed and a well struck shot will find a receptive green sloping from back to front.
Front hole locations must contend with the front bunkers, and overly conservative shots may finish on the upper tier to the back and have very fast putts back down the slope. The rear upper right section of the green will be especially tough to reach with the right hand bunker also coming into play.
This spectacular par 3 plays downhill with views to the town centre in the background. A long iron or hybrid is required to be played with a definite fade played into the angled green that slopes from right to left. A draw or hook will have less green to work with across the slope and will most likely find the deep hollows at the back of the green.
Tough hole locations are to the front left, perched above the deep bunker at the front. Overly conservative shots played to the right of the green, will have very slippery putts or chips back down hill, particularly to right back hole locations if you are short-sided.
Don’t let the diagram with no bunkers fool you into thinking this hole will be easy. It requires patience and precise shot making. The drive must avoid the deep ravine on the right side and a stream and steep slope on the left. A solid drive of 230m will find the widest section of fairway and an elevated view of the rest of the fairway ahead. Longer drives are possible but risk finding a downhill lie which will make the second shot more difficult.
The green is small and elevated and anything short will run back down the slopes in front. The green is two tiered with the upper right side quite small and will require an accurate approach to get near a hole cut on that side. Front hole locations will be tricky and anything long will find the hollow at the back from where a delicate chip will be required back to the green which slopes to the front.
Second shots from poor drives must contend with the narrow fairway with steep slopes to jungle either side, otherwise it’s all about getting to the best distance for your third shot to the green.
This beautiful tree lined hole requires a solid drive across the deep valley to the wider fairway short of the pot bunker. Spectacular tall “nibong” palms line the right side of the dogleg and wait to trap the overly aggressive who may try to cut the corner too much.
A short iron only will be required to a green that is angled to the line of approach, with the back right hole location located beyond the deep hollows in front and right of the green. A bunker to the centre left awaits a cautiously pulled approach shot. The green is divided by a subtle central ridgeline from the bunker and long putts may have a double break to contend with.
A spectacular short par 3 requiring precision from the tee to set up a birdie chance. Bunkers left and right sandwich the front section of the green, and the back right hole location is tucked around and just over the right hand bunker on an upper tier. A central mound also divides left and right and front and back making putting from one section to another difficult to manage.
A long drive may be attempted down the right side of the fairway but is fraught with danger with the lake on the left and jungle on the right. The sensible drive is one of around 240m short of the pot bunker and lake.
From here an accurate short iron over the lake which guards the front left of the gently undulating green will set up a relatively simple birdie putt. Difficult hole locations are to the back half of the green which sits over the lake, with a bunker on the right and hollows to the left and rear.
This challenging finishing hole demands accuracy off the tee and all the way to the green. Three bunkers along the left of the fairway turn the hole around the dogleg of the hole and challenge the player to take on the dogleg. A long drive to the right, avoiding the jungle, may find extra distance down the slope to have a shorter iron approach to the green.
The conservative play is short and to the right of the bunkers, from where a good view of the green can be found. The green has three distinctive sections, each presenting their own challenges.
The deep front bunker guards the front two sections of green, which slope in opposite directions, and the two rear bunkers guard either side of the narrow upper section. Steep drop-offs are close by on the left and right of the front sections, and recovery shots and long putts will need a delicate touch.
